Who Are We?

The Robinson Huron Waawiindamaagewin is an initiative of the Robinson Huron Treaty signatory First Nations, adhesions and beneficiaries to create a deliberative body mandated to address many long standing issues that face the Treaty Signatories, in accordance with the traditional world view, cooperative philosophy, and historical alliances of the 21 member First Nations.

We are a Treaty level organization that has been mandated to support our members First Nations regarding Treaty level issues including:

  • Establishing a Sovereign Robinson Huron Treaty Organization
  • Identify Key Principles for Treaty Reconciliation & Renewal

Sovereignty – Nation Building

  • Assertion and Recognition, protection, enforcement of Treaty and Aboriginal Rights
  • Renew Treaty Partners Relationships
  • Protocols with First Nations, Crown, Industry
  • Protect enhance Anishnaabemowin language, culture, traditions & spiritual values
  • GIS Mapping of entire Robinson Huron Treaty
  • Transcribe the Robinson Huron Treaty 1850 Relationship in Anishinaabemowin
  • Protection of Sovereign Rights to all territory ecosystems and all within
  • Deal with any Policy Issues needed regarding resource development in the Treaty Territory
